Every CompliChef price, on one page
We changed how the hardware works in September 2026, so this post brings everything up to date: the monthly plans, the label printers, the probes and sensors, and the consumables. No setup fees, no contracts, and nothing here is hidden behind a sales call.
CompliChef is not VAT-registered, so the prices below are what you pay — there is no VAT added.
Monthly plans
Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. Card details are taken securely through Stripe when you sign up, nothing is charged during the trial, and you can cancel at any time.
- Multi-Staff Kitchen — £39/month. One site, unlimited staff. Digital HACCP and temperature logs, allergen management, EHO-ready record exports, plus rotas and digital contracts in StaffPortal.
- Professional Kitchen — £160/month. Everything in Multi-Staff Kitchen for up to five locations, with RecruitPortal included (20 job credits).
- Complete — £170/month. The full ecosystem for one location: KitchenPortal, StaffPortal, RecruitPortal (20 job credits) and Click & Collect ordering at 0% commission.
Just getting started? CompliChef Lite is £79.99 a year, aimed at home bakers and very small food businesses.
Labels: two routes, and they cost different things
This is the part that changed most, so it is worth being precise. There are two ways to print use-by, allergen and Natasha's Law (PPDS) labels, and the right one depends on whether you want the rest of the platform.
Route 1 — Labels as part of the ecosystem
- £310 one-off for the Sunmi V3 handheld label printer, set up and ready to print.
- From £39/month for your CompliChef plan, which is what drives the labels — allergens and ingredients come from the recipes you build in KitchenPortal.
- Label rolls at £1.50 per roll, ordered when you need them, in 50×50mm or 50×80mm.
Day one on this route is £349: the printer plus your first month on the Multi-Staff Kitchen plan.
Route 2 — Solo Labels, on its own
- £310 one-off for the same Sunmi V3 printer.
- £30/month, which covers a dedicated Solo Labels web dashboard, the labelling app licence, and 500 labels a month delivered to your business address.
Solo Labels needs no KitchenPortal plan and no menu database. You type the item, it prints a label in the required PPDS format. It suits a single kitchen that wants labelling sorted and nothing else.
Kitchen hardware
All hardware is bought outright. Prices are one-off, delivery in the UK is included, and everything carries a 12-month return-to-base warranty plus 14 days to change your mind.
- Sunmi V3 label printer — £310. Android handheld with a built-in thermal printer. Prints use-by, allergen, defrost, freezer and PPDS sale labels.
- Sunmi Cloud Printer — £100. A counter-top label printer that prints from the Kitchen Portal app on your own phone or tablet.
- Sunmi M3 handheld — £250. An Android handheld pre-configured with CompliChef Kitchen Portal, which pairs with the Cloud Printer and with INKBIRD probes.
- INKBIRD Bluetooth food probe — £35 each. Readings go straight into your temperature logs instead of being written down and typed up later.
- INKBIRD Bluetooth fridge and freezer sensor — £25 each. Continuous monitoring, with the readings landing in the same logs.
- Label rolls — £1.50 per roll, in 50×50mm or 50×80mm.
The Kitchen Portal app itself is a free download from the App Store and Google Play, so a phone or tablet you already own can drive the Cloud Printer.
What changed in September 2026
We used to rent label printers: a deposit, an onboarding fee, and a monthly rental with the device going back if you stopped. That has ended. Printers are now sold outright, which is simpler and cheaper over any reasonable life of the device:
- No deposit and no onboarding fee.
- The printer is yours from the day it arrives. If you cancel a subscription later, there is nothing to send back and no exit fee.
- Existing rental customers keep the terms they signed up under — nothing changes for you unless you ask us to move you across.
What the price does not cover
Worth saying plainly, because it matters more than the numbers: CompliChef is a record-keeping and management platform. It supports your food-safety management system and helps you keep the evidence an inspector asks for. It does not replace your own procedures, training or checks, and no software can guarantee an inspection outcome.
Labels print from the ingredient and allergen information you enter. Under FSA guidance the food business — not the software — remains responsible for that information being complete and accurate, so check your recipe data and check each label before you rely on it.
Ready to work out your number?
For most single-site kitchens it is £39/month, plus £310 once if you want to print labels. For a kitchen that only wants labelling, it is £310 once and £30/month with the labels included.
