What is EHO Access mode in CompliChef?
EHO Access mode is a dedicated, read-only view of your compliance records designed for Environmental Health Officer inspections. When an inspector arrives, you generate a secure, time-limited access token in seconds. The inspector can then browse your full compliance history — temperature logs, cleaning schedules, HACCP checks, allergen records, and label history — filtered by date range, without being given any management or admin access.
Do EHOs accept digital compliance records?
Yes — and they increasingly prefer them. Digital records in CompliChef are timestamped at the exact moment of submission on our servers. Unlike paper logs, they cannot be backdated, completed in bulk at the end of a shift, or altered after the fact. EHOs recognise that server-timestamped records carry more evidential weight than handwritten logs.
Is it safe to give an EHO access to my CompliChef account?
EHO Access mode never shares your admin credentials or exposes staff personal data, billing, or account settings. The inspector receives a read-only session token that shows only compliance records. You can revoke access at any time from your dashboard, and the session expires automatically after the period you set.
What records can an EHO see?
In EHO Access mode, an inspector can view: temperature logs (fridge, freezer, cooking, cooldown, probe), cleaning schedules, opening and closing checks, HACCP checklists, allergen records, food label print history, and probe calibration records. All records are filterable by date range.
Will better digital records improve my food hygiene rating?
Directly. The FSA's food hygiene rating scheme scores three areas — food hygiene practices, structural requirements, and confidence in management. The third pillar is significantly influenced by documentation quality. Businesses with consistent, complete, timestamped digital records typically score higher in 'confidence in management' than those relying on paper logs with gaps or questionable entries.
Can I use EHO Access mode on any device?
